For the latest episode of K2’s Personally Speaking podcast, series host, Global Marketing Director, James Marshall, was joined by Global Head of Compliance and ESG, Linda Rafferty for an in-depth discussion around the development of K2’s Sustainability Programme and the recent release of K2’s 2024 Sustainability Report.
Episode 10 (K2’s Sustainability Programme):
The episode, which was filmed on location at RHS Wisley, opens with James and Linda talking a little about Linda’s thirteen years at K2. Specifically, her swift transition away from a role in K2’s Finance department, and how a request from the Managing Director of K2 Americas, Phil Hunt, for Linda to get to grips with governance, would ultimately lead to her growing and overseeing K2’s Sustainability Programme.
As the world has changed in recent years, so has the world view of sustainability. Since K2 began working on its first environment-focused initiatives in 2015, sustainability has made its way to the top of the agenda for many organisations. With new regulations and requirements constantly emerging, the landscape is ever evolving: Linda shares how she sees sustainability as a voyage, rather than a journey, one with no end point and a course that can be subject to both change and tempestuous conditions.
James and Linda go on to discuss the vital role of innovation and collaboration in driving progress, covering K2’s partnerships with Furthr and the University of Bath, exploring how the work being done through both is helping us to meet not only our own sustainability goals, but also those of our clients.
