Members of our UK, Sweden and US Commercial Teams recently returned from the annual EURA conference, hosted this year in the famous city of Dublin. The EURA conference is held in a different European city each Spring and brings together global service partners and RMCs for a mixture of symposiums, meetings and networking events. It was an extra special year for EURA, who were celebrating their 25th anniversary: they commemorated the occasion by holding a number of special events for attendees.

The K2 teams arrived on Sunday 23rd April at an exclusive and unique venue in the heart of Dublin, ready to set up the partner event for the Monday evening. Invites for the event were sent to 179 of our global partners, and we were thrilled to welcome 150 on the night.

On the Monday evening, once our guests were settled with a drink, the event began with a Q&A session with members of our management team (Nick Plummer, Richard Rutledge, Andy Hayward and Jose Pose). Questions had been submitted by our partners in advance and related to: K2’s journey and successes, new business, sustainability, managing challenges, finance, and our CSR work – in particular the K2 Foundation and our school building project in Brazil. The incredibly open and honest responses provided meant that our partners got the opportunity to really engage with our Leadership Team.

The event carried on into the evening, with partners given the opportunity to network over drinks and canapés. A local caricature artist was also hired to produce digital portraits for our guests: every portrait was stamped with the K2 logo and our EURA hashtag, #wecouldntdoitwithoutyou.

Over the next four days of EURA, the Commercial Team completed almost 60 face-to-face meetings, connecting with DSPs, serviced accommodation partners, cultural and language trainers, immigration partners, and rental furniture companies. They also attended various networking events. The overarching feedback from each partner was that they all genuinely enjoy working with K2 and feel hugely positive about the way that we engage with them.

I just wanted to drop you a quick note to say how great it was connecting with you all in person last week. We love our partnership and I really valued the time we were able to spend together at the conference! Thanks again for having us at your event”

It was great to meet you in person in Dublin and I hope this will be the first of many. I loved the K2 networking event – very interesting and well organised!

We also took the opportunity to discuss the challenges faced in 2022, plus the feedback received, with a mutual recognition that with closer partnership, transparency, and great communication, we can continue to deliver a high level of service. It was a tiring but ultimately very rewarding week, with lots of established relationships strengthened and new connections forged.
