This autumn saw K2 undertaking our EcoVadis reassessment. EcoVadis is the provider of the world’s most trusted business sustainability ratings.
The first time that we were assessed by EcoVadis, in autumn 2022, we achieved a Silver Medal – very difficult to achieve through an inaugural assessment! This year, the first time that we were reassessed, we are delighted to announce that we achieved a Gold Medal.
Last year, we emerged with an overall score of 64/100, as detailed below:
This year, we committed to going for Gold, taking the following steps:
- We produced our inaugural Sustainability Report, which provides a detailed account of our initiatives, actions and ambitions within the connected spheres of sustainability and ESG.
- We completed our inaugural CDP Assessment. CDP is a not-for-profit charity which strives to incentivise and guide companies on a journey through disclosure towards becoming a leader on environmental transparency and action.
- We completed a second year of carbon footprint measurements.
- We prepared our first Communication on Progress (CoP), which we are required to do annually as a Participant member of the United Nations Global Compact.
- We completed a second year of measuring the waste produced across all twelve of our global offices.
- We completed a second year of measuring the amount of resources consumed across all twelve of our global offices.
As a result, we achieved an overall score of 72/100, as detailed below:
We’re in the 95th percentile!
Needless to say, we are delighted with the score and medal that we have achieved.
Departments across the business pulled together to produce this result, from the ESG Team who focused on all the elements of the assessment, especially the environmental aspects, to the HR and Commercial Teams who supported with the various reporting elements, including the diversity within our supply chain.
Thank you to all teams involved: this achievement is the result of a huge team effort, one that we can all be immensely proud of.
Our bold statement is part of the plan
Our mission to reduce plastics usage in our partner network is having an impact.
We are working to reduce plastics from our supply chain. We have asked that by the end of Quarter 4 2024, all of our partners stop using vinyl tape, bubble wrap and polychips
