Nick Plummer, K2 Group CEO:
“As a global organisation which relies heavily on supply chain management, we know we need to take more determined responsibility for our impact on the world. This is why we have made sustainability one of our key strategic priorities in our new 5 year business strategy, Kinetic.
We’re taking steps to drive strategic and innovative action on sustainability management, both within our business and with our partners.
We have all seen the effects of climate change on our local and global environments and have concerns for the future. I want to ensure K2 plays our part in committing to action for a better tomorrow. Now, more than ever, is the time to deliver significant change.”
K2 has set out some early commitments for their five year journey of action on sustainability focusing on three key objectives:
- Broadening understanding of sustainability and the impact global mobility activities have on the world.
- Identifying where and how K2 can make a material difference through our chosen initiatives.
- Increasing the speed at which change is made.
Key actions include:
- Becoming a United Nations Global Compact participant in February 2022 and committing to annual reporting on progress in ESG and sustainability.
- Committing to all 17 of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, and focusing on five in 2022 – (5) gender equality, (8) decent work and economic growth, (12) responsible consumption and production, (15) life on land, and (17) partnerships for the goals.
- Implementing a sustainability ratings assessment and process with our Global Accredited Partner Programme and EcoVadis.
