K2 Bespoke Relocation Manager, Rheannon Chaplin, resumes her role as host of the UK episodes of K2 Fireside Talks, and welcomes K2’s Head of GM Tax Advisory and Strategic Alliances, Ben Neville-Towle, for the latest episode in the series.
Ben, who joined K2 in early 2023, comes from an expatriate and employment tax background, having held numerous mobility and tax positions, both in-house and in Professional Services firms. This industry experience, coupled with the first-hand experience of life as a relocating employee gained during two short-term assignments to Bangalore, set Ben up for success at K2.
The role of Head of GM Tax Advisory and Strategic Alliances didn’t exist within the business prior to Ben’s appointment, but the addition of this position has helped to both expand K2’s Advisory offering and enable the company to provide an even more well-rounded suite of professional services to clients. Ben explains to Rheannon that is it his job to bridge the sometimes seemingly sizeable gap between relocation and tax, in addition to identifying opportunities to develop partnerships with other organisations in the GM space.
During the episode, Ben and Rheannon delve into the dual nature of Ben’s role, and talk a little about the challenge that Ben was set by CEO, Nick Plummer, and CCO, Rob McFarland, upon coming aboard with K2. The pair also go on to discuss the need for balancing succinctness with sensitivity when it comes to the highly emotive topic of tax; the importance of responsiveness when it comes to servicing clients; and what it was about K2 that persuaded Ben to join the ranks.
