Meet Rob, Group Chief Commercial Officer
My career in global mobility began during my time at university. Two internships, a fourth-year university job and a dissertation sponsored by Shell later, I was offered my first post-grad job with PwC in London; my first international assignment in Malmö, Sweden followed shortly afterwards. Fast forward 27 years and I now have 15 international assignments under my belt! These include almost 7 years in India and 4 years in Dubai. In summary, I have spent my entire career in global mobility, simultaneously practising it and experiencing it as an expat.

A more detailed description of my journey
My first contact with K2 was as one of its clients.
I was managing a small mobile population that had very high expectations, and given the low volume I was working with, I was struggling to find an RMC willing to pitch for the engagement. K2 not only enthusiastically pitched for the work, they also promised to run through walls for me. From that moment on, I knew that a company like K2 was the only sort of company that I wanted to work with…or for.
Over the next 15 years, I amassed experience in both facilitating global mobility and experiencing it first-hand as an expat. I developed a deep understanding of both sides of the GM function, i.e. service provider-side and assignee-side. As a result, I am now able to expertly balance the requirements of both sides, a skill that is key to helping a client develop/maintain a robust global mobility programme.
I joined K2 in 2018. Whilst striving for service excellence and committing to always going the extra mile have defined every role that I’ve ever fulfilled, K2 takes those service promises to a whole new level. We’re able to do this because of the partnerships that we build with our clients – trusted, lasting, deeply personal. This puts us in a position where we can help shape clients’ journeys and so drive positive change at the very core of the industry.
