In March, K2 was recertified globally as a Great Place To Work®, with our survey results showing that we have a strong culture defined by teamwork, innovation, and going above and beyond to get the job done. This month, we are delighted to announce that we have been recognised as one of the UK’s Best Workplaces for Development, an exclusive list produced annually by Great Place To Work®.

New for this year, the UK’s Best Workplaces for Development List recognises companies which make employee development a key part of their company culture. These workplaces offer employees the chance to better themselves, to learn new skills, and to progress within the organisation. They understand that development is not one-size fits all, and they actively support every single employee to undertake their own tailored journey of growth. Because of this, these companies’ people are fuelled by a sense of purpose, feel valued by their employer, and give their best to the business.
To compile the UK’s Best Workplaces for Development List, Great Place To Work® reviewed each participating company’s culture, benefits, approach to leadership, and approach to development, alongside anonymous responses from their employees. They then used these data insights to benchmark each company’s employee value proposition against the culture that their employees actually experience. The businesses who achieved the highest scores secured a place on the list.
Benedict Gautrey, Managing Director of Great Place To Work® UK, states that
“training and development aren’t just about helping employees perform their day-to-day tasks – it’s about demonstrating that people are valued and that there’s a clear path for growth. When employees can’t see opportunities ahead, they’re less likely to be fully engaged, which can harm both productivity and retention”.

K2’s survey results, show 90% of our people feel that ‘Management shows a sincere interest in me as a person, not just an employee’, and that ‘Management shows appreciation for good work and extra effort’. In other words, our people feel valued, respected, and truly seen. Furthermore, with 86% feeling that ‘Management genuinely seeks and responds to suggestions and ideas’, 81% believing that ‘I am offered training or development to further myself professionally’, and 91% claiming that ‘I want to work here for a long time’, it is clear that our people see a rich future for themselves at K2.
