On Thursday 20th June, K2’s Head of Strategic Alliances and Client Development for the APAC region, Kim Thomas, and Client Account Manager for K2 Australia, Blake Young, attended the Sydney Global Mobility Forum, where they held a roundtable discussion on the topic of ‘Managing Exceptional Assignments’.
Produced by Jasper Events and hosted at Dockside, Cockle Bay Wharf, the Forum was attended by global mobility professionals and partners from a diverse range of organisations, offering those present an invaluable opportunity for networking, knowledge exchange and forging new connections.
Kim comments:
“It was a pleasure to attend the recent Sydney Global Mobility Forum and host a roundtable discussion that was attended by so many GM experts. Our session explored how to handle special assignments, focussing on balancing flexibility and process change for VIPs and assignees with unique requirements. We loved hearing insights from in-house GM teams, and the discussion group all agreed that agility and flexibility continue to be key considerations when supporting assignees and their families with varying needs.”
Recalling one of her highlights from the Forum, Kim adds:
“A high point of the day for me was hearing from one of our clients, as they shared their HR transformation journey. The insight they provided into the journey taken offered a roadmap for other organisations navigating similar changes and challenges. We, i.e K2, were delighted to be recognised as a valued partner during this journey – the client specifically highlighted the importance of our collaborative relationship.”
Other topics explored throughout the day included:
- The shifting role of the GM function and its alignment with strategic talent considerations
- Mobility Agility and exploring how organisations have adapted to support a new, more flexible and agile workforce
- AI and how companies are leveraging it to enhance their GM team strategies and operations
Kim closes:
“Thank you to all who attended and contributed to the discussions on our roundtable. Thank you to Jasper Events for arranging another successful and engaging GM forum. We look forward to seeing everyone in Sydney again next year!”
Facilitating roundtable discussions at events like these provides a platform through which participants can learn from each other’s experiences, gaining valuable insight into best practice and the common challenges being faced in the market.
