Taryn took attendees through a thought-provoking session that looked at the key reasons for aligning mobility and talent. Taryn discussed how a coordinated approach adds to the success of an assignment and ultimately enhances the employee experience.

Taryn comments:
“We know that the topic of aligning GM & Talent Management is one that resonates with mobility teams around the globe. The aim of this session was to offer attendees some thoughts and considerations for how best to align and successfully get these functions working in tandem for the benefit of the business and its mobile population.”

Taryn continues:
“We know that global mobility creates opportunities for talent to gain experience, broadening capabilities and exposure. To maximise the success of an assignment, and ultimately the return on investment, it is vital that the longer-term career is considered in the upfront planning phase and early stages of the assignment lifecycle.”

The webinar was brought to a close with a discussion and Q&A session.

Attendee Anthea Latchman, Standard Bank, summarises the event:
“It was most informative and I really enjoyed it.”

On the success of the series so far, Eden says:
“It was great to see many of the attendees from the first webinar return to join us for the second session, as well as to welcome some new faces. We look forward to seeing how this webinar series evolves, with input from our online community of GM professionals.”

Eden adds:
“As we continue to build our regional events programme, we will be delivering a number of in-person roundtables alongside our Across Africa webinar series. The first of these roundtables will take place in April and we are excited to share more details about this session soon.”
