EcoVadis are a global sustainability ratings company who work with over 100,000 businesses, worldwide, to monitor and improve sustainability performance across the areas of environment, labour and human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement. EcoVadis continually assess our sustainability credentials and progress.
Through evidence-based, expert-validated ratings and actionable universal scorecards, EcoVadis provide K2 with benchmarks, insights and a guided improvement journey for environmental, social and ethical practices. Our partnership with EcoVadis is one of a series of measures which will hold us accountable to our commitments as a UNGC Participant.
We completed our inaugural EcoVadis assessment in September 2022 and received a Silver Award and an overall score of 64. The EcoVadis overall score reflects the quality of a company’s sustainability management systems at the time of assessment. With this score, we are in the top 12% of companies rated by EcoVadis.
“When K2 invited us to sign up to EcoVadis, we immediately recognised that it was a fantastic opportunity to benchmark our sustainability credentials against competitors and other top-performing companies within the industry – worldwide. The EcoVadis platform is a well-designed tool which allowed us to obtain an objective assessment, identifying where we are performing well, plus identifying areas for improvement.”
Giulio Argiró, Relocation & Immigration Manager, Bliss Corporation, who provide household goods moving and relocation services to K2.
The EcoVadis platform allows us to share our performance with stakeholders and to monitor the performance of our commercial partners. In 2022, the EcoVadis assessment was taken by 34 partners, 32.06% of our partner network.
We prioritised our medium- to high-spend partners and those in our highest emissions category of household goods (HHG) moving, to take the assessment. For our low-spend partners, or those in lower emissions categories, we educated them on the value of taking the EcoVadis assessment. Our target was for 50% of all assessments taken to be completed by HHG moving partners, even though we knew that the assessment was potentially more challenging for this type of partner. We are pleased to report that we exceeded this target: 58.82% of all assessments taken were completed by HHG moving partners.
