As part of the launch of the Kinetic business plan in Q1 of this year, K2 has made sustainability a key strategic priority for the next five years (2022 – 2026) and beyond.

After outlining a number of ambitious goals in this area, including achieving Net Zero Scope 1 & 2 emissions by the end of 2023 and working towards a 40% carbon footprint reduction through our supply chain by the end of 2026, K2 committed to delivering transparent and credible reporting, to help monitor progress. Such reporting is crucial not only for enabling the organisation to identify strengths and improvement areas, but also to be able to communicate sustainability and ESG developments to stakeholders.

Having signed up to become UN Global Compact participants, K2 will be required to submit an annual communication of progress (COP) report, the first of which is due to be submitted in February 2023. As an additional step to improving transparency and sustainability practices, we opted to partner with a sustainability ratings company to make an ongoing assessment of our operational practices and track quantitative metrics.

EcoVadis are a globally recognised sustainability ratings company who work with over 100,000 businesses worldwide to monitor and improve sustainability performance across environment, labour and human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement. Through evidence-based, expert-validated ratings and actionable universal scorecards, EcoVadis provide benchmarks, insights, and a guided improvement journey for environmental, social and ethical practices.

We completed our inaugural EcoVadis assessment in September of this year and are delighted to announce that we have received the Silver Award, achieving an overall score of 64. With this score we are in the top 12% of all companies rated on EcoVadis. The EcoVadis overall score reflects the quality of a company’s sustainability management systems at the time of assessment.

Linda Rafferty, Global Head of Compliance and ESG, comments

I am incredibly proud that in the first year of assessment, K2 Corporate Mobility has managed to achieve a silver level award from EcoVadis. This was the culmination of months of work and the perfect example of positive outcomes arising from collaboration, and the commitment from K2 to make meaningful change.

We look forward to further developing our ESG strategy and working closely with EcoVadis to demonstrate the quality of our sustainability management system.”

Nick Plummer, Global CEO, adds

This is only the beginning. Our partnership with EcoVadis continues to go from strength to strength and to receive such a fantastic result in year one is testament not only to the hard work of our ESG team but to the commitment of the whole organisation to operate in a sustainable, ethical way.

Working with EcoVadis will enable us to demonstrate our credentials in sustainability, differentiate against our competitors, and address corrective actions efficiently, as we strive for tangible year-on-year improvement. We have now set our sights on gold for 2023 and platinum by 2026!
