A more detailed description of my journey
As part of my studies in Chinese, Journalism and Communication, I received a scholarship to complete my major in Beijing.
During my 11 years in China, I learnt first-hand how to overcome the difficulties foreigners can encounter when living and working abroad.
My journey within immigration began when I got an opportunity to work as an Immigration Officer at the Swedish Embassy in Beijing, where I was conducting interviews with applicants for residence permits for family reunification. This role made me realise the stress involved in an immigration process, from an applicant’s perspective, and the importance of the authorities’ attitude towards individuals relocating to another country.
In 2018, my husband and I decided to take an immigration journey ourselves and relocate back to Sweden. With a background in immigration, it felt natural for me to continue my career within global mobility on my return.
I joined K2 in March 2019, as I was interested in working with immigration on a more global level – and what a fantastic journey it has been since! I started as a Senior Immigration Consultant…
supporting our clients with immigration services in Europe. Since 2020, I have had different managerial roles within the immigration team and in April 2022, I started in my current role as Immigration Leader for Europe and Africa.
During my years with K2, I have seen our immigration team grow and develop immensely. It is such an honour and privilege to lead and support a group of highly experienced team members, who make a difference to people lives on a daily basis. It continues to amaze me how we can solve the most complex situations for our clients, and I could not be prouder of what the team achieves, and the outstanding teamwork involved to provide service excellence to our clients.
I truly enjoy the close relationships built with both our clients and their employees, whom we support with immigration services, and working to find tailored solutions fit for each unique situation. I look forward to seeing the immigration function grow even further and to be part of the continuous development of K2’s immigration services.
