On a number of days during mid-June, K2 teams around the globe celebrated Kinetic Day.

An annual event involving all employees, the day gives K2’s leaders the chance to deliver an update on the progress made as part of Kinetic, K2’s 5-year (2022 – 2026) strategic business plan. It also encourages employees to take a step back from the day-to-day by engaging in a variety of activities which bring K2’s culture of camaraderie, support and connection into sharp focus.
K2’s culture is the beating heart of the business. By building and nurturing teams that respect, understand and willingly support each other, K2 is able to deliver both a quality of service and a level of customer experience which we believe to be unrivalled within our industry. Events like Kinetic Day, which blend together education, celebration, reflection, team building, and socialising, play a key part in the growth of our teams.

The first half of this year’s Kinetic Day saw teams coming together for a group screening of a film which set out progress made over the past year within each of the six Kinetic Pillars: Commercial Success; Marketing; Partner Network; People & Culture; Sustainability; and Technology. Progress highlights include the introduction of the Q Awards, a global employee reward and recognition scheme; the roll-out of a global plastic reduction programme which encompasses our entire supply chain; and the development of new portals and apps for the Finance function, designed to significantly increase efficiencies.

The second half of Kinetic Day saw teams engaging in a number of team building activities including taking to the battlefield and launching water balloons at each other using self-built catapults; volunteering at a food bank, working hard to provide enough meals for 20,000 families; and spending the day supporting a non-profit organisation dedicated to animal protection and biodiversity conservation. Each activity helped to strengthen team members’ connection with each other, galvanising the togetherness of the teams who deliver K2’s unique and uniquely personal service.

As we move through the second half of the penultimate year of Kinetic, we will remain focused on the plan’s six foundational pillars, pushing hard for commercial success whilst never compromising the culture that we are so proud of.
