Rest and recovery was the key theme of today for our volunteers, with the whole team feeling a little fatigued. Luckily, Pokhara offered just that and the day was spent gently exploring the local area, calling home to missed loved ones and catching up with some well needed rest.

As the sun began to drop in the sky, the team were picked up by Pahar Trust project leader Tek and transported to the main office, where a delicious BBQ feast awaited them. Our volunteers got to meet the Pahar Trust team and thank them for looking after us so well during our time in Nepal.

To help us deliver the volunteering side of the Nepal Expedition, we partnered with non-profit organisation, Pahar Trust, whose main aim is to provide children all around Nepal with access to education and hygiene through the rebuilding of earthquake-safe schools and washing facilities.

Today was our very last trek day of the trip, and as we gathered this morning and got ready, we started to feel some emotions creeping up.

We set off from Phakding, where we spent the night, and enjoyed a half day trip where we saw all the beautiful views, we have slight forgotten about.

The trek was easy today and arriving at Lukla, really made us feel even more emotional.

As we arrived and it finally sunk in that we have all successfully completed the EBC trek, we all once again congratulated each other.

Not only were we so proud of each other, we were all then rewarded with the most amazing Teahouse we have stayed in yet! Each room had it’s own on-suite bathroom with a prober shower, and we all did not even think twice!

After a good shower and some exploring time, we gather at the diner for our dinner, where ouer Sherpa Boys cooked us a delicious Chicken Sizzler.

We also enjoyed the tipping & Donation ceremony and were just so happy and thankful to each and every one of the Sherpa Boys.

Without them, nothing from this trip would have been possible.

We headed to bed, ready te rest up as tomorrow morning we will be up rather early, and ready for the final stretch of the trip – the flight from Luka to Kathmandu.

Support the K2 Foundation

The charitable initiatives that the Foundation funds focus on helping the children within those communities, children whose futures are bleak or uncertain. Often, the support provided takes the form of education, as this gives children the chance to develop skillsets which can increase the number of opportunities available to them as they grow up.
