As part of our partnership with the University of Bath, we applied to the Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) – a government scheme that provides funding for research projects – for a part-funded, 25-month project in the field of sustainability.
The project falls into the category of a Management KTP with a focus on developing more sustainable businesses by enhancing processes and building management capability. We are delighted to announce that we recently received confirmation that our application has been successful, which means that the KTP will provide 50% of the funding for our project.
Below is a summary of the project that K2 and the University of Bath will embark on in September 2023:
Aim: To become the first and leading global mobility company to offer a truly sustainable approach to corporate relocation.
Method: We will work with the University of Bath to determine what it is that a) enables corporates to adopt a more sustainable approach, and b) makes it difficult for them to do just that. Developing a comprehensive understanding of all drivers and barriers requires an equally comprehensive understanding of the attitude-behaviour gap which currently shapes the consumer market. The University of Bath has this understanding: together, we will determine the nuances of this gap in relation to the corporate relocation sector, tackling each and every one of these in the new approach to relocation that we develop.
In addition, the University of Bath will help us to benchmark the sustainability of our current approach to relocation, a process which will involve internal review and in-depth discussions with our clients. The knowledge that we gain through this process will extend our understanding of the attitude-behaviour gap within the consumer market and help us to develop an approach to relocation which moves beyond inefficient carbon offsetting strategies.
