A Summary of penultimate day for K2’s volunteering and trekking project in Nepal from Emma Kerslake & Natasha Wannenburg.
Our two teams are reunited again in Kathmandu after 15 days apart. During their time the walkers have spent the days undertaking the Everest Base Camp Trek, whilst the workers have devoted their time to completing a range of renovation tasks at two village schools outside of Pokhara.
Having toiled so stoically for over two weeks, the two groups were thoroughly deserving of their end-of-trip celebratory dinner!
Natasha comments before their dinner together: “We are definitely all extremely proud of ourselves and one another! It has been a crazy journey – one we will never forget. But we are definitely happy to be back at Kathmandu and also looking forward to going home and being back with our families!”

Support the K2 Foundation
The charitable initiatives that the Foundation funds focus on helping the children within those communities, children whose futures are bleak or uncertain. Often, the support provided takes the form of education, as this gives children the chance to develop skillsets which can increase the number of opportunities available to them as they grow up.
