The 980 mile ‘End-to-End’ route will take K2 riders past beauty spots and iconic landmarks including St Michael’s Mount, Cheddar Gorge and The Grampian Mountains. Whilst they may be able to enjoy breathtaking views along the way, Ride Across Britain will put the riders’ stamina and will to the test. Requiring those taking part to cycle over 100 miles a day for nine days, the event is an enormous physical and mental challenge for even the most experienced of cyclists.

We sat down with the three core members of the K2 Ride Across Britain Team, to find out about their inspiration for signing up, the training they’ve undertaken to date, and where they find their motivation to keep going, as they gear up to hit the open road and make the epic journey from the bottom of Cornwall to the top of Scotland.

K2’s Executive Business Director, Richard Rutledge is up first. As well as sharing his thoughts about the imminent challenge of Ride Across Britain, he explains the reason behind setting up the K2 Foundation in 2023.

With less than two months to go, the team are inviting anyone who would like to show their support to make a donation and help them with their mission to raise funds for the K2 Foundation.

The K2 Foundation aims to help children within the communities where K2 operates, children whose futures are bleak or uncertain. The major focus since the Foundation was set up in 2023 has been rebuilding a school in a São Paulo favela. Once completed, the school will provide a safe space within which up to 150 children can learn, play and be cared for.
