On Tuesday 12th November, members of the K2 Johannesburg team welcomed a number of clients and representatives from other local businesses to an Immigration Roundtable, organised in partnership with IBN Immigration Solutions.
Hosted by K2’s Client Development Executive, Eden Roux, the event took place at WeWork Rosebank and ran over the course of the morning. On arrival attendees had the opportunity to network over coffee before the session kicked off.
Discussions during the event were led by Managing Owner of IBN Immigration Solutions, Andreas Krensel, who took the group through a series of regional immigration hot topics, including:
- What’s in store for South Africa immigration under the new Home Affairs Minister and the potential impact for businesses and expats
- The re-opening of the general work via option
- The Trusted Employer Scheme
There was also a Q&A session where participants were invited not only to ask Andreas questions relating to immigration, but also to share their own experiences with their peers.
On the value that these types of events have for attendees, Eden comments:
“This was another great opportunity to bring together clients and members of our extended network and take an in-depth look at a topic of significant importance to mobility professionals.
It’s essential for businesses to stay abreast of the latest immigration updates in order to remain compliant and mitigate any risk to business continuity. As part of this, GM teams are required to navigate complex and constantly evolving policies, making sessions like this one incredibly valuable.”
Eden continues:
“Many of those who attended this roundtable event had also attended our recent Across Africa with K2 webinar, so it was brilliant for them to have an opportunity to meet in person, and for us to be able to continue building our local K2 community.
Huge thanks to all those who attended and, of course, to our valued partner, Andreas Krensel of IBN Immigration Solutions.”
