With a deep commitment to sustainability, Sweden is one of the countries leading the way in implementing innovative measures that promote environmentally-friendly living. Its strong ethos of sustainability serves as an inspiration for other countries to adopt similar practices.

Sweden’s commitment to sustainability

Sweden consistently tops the charts as one of the most Sustainable Countries in the World, as confirmed by Robeco’s renowned Country Sustainability Ranking study. It’s no surprise that living sustainably comes naturally to most Swedes. With easy access to the natural world, Swedes are naturally inclined to make green choices. In fact, sustainability is more than just a choice for them – it’s a guiding principle that influences their decisions. This commitment to sustainability is supported by stringent policies, and Sweden has already surpassed its 2020 target of ensuring that 50% of the energy that it produces is renewable.

What measures are Swedish companies taking to fulfil the country’s commitment to sustainability?

Swedish companies, under the guidance of the Swedish Government, recognize the positive impact of sustainable business practices on the environment, society, and the economy. They not only focus on reducing emissions, but also strive for equal opportunities for all and actively involve local communities in their initiatives. Furthermore, they are paving the way to a more circular economy, advocating for products to be shared, leased, rented, reused, repaired, refurbished, or recycled for as long as possible.
