K2 hosts Spring Social at the Ned to celebrate ongoing client partnerships.
On Thursday 21st March, K2 held their annual client social event in the City of London at former Midland Bank Headquarters turned hotel, the Ned.
Jo Wakeham, K2’s Group Managing Director,
sees great value in these type of events:
“Events like these allow us to further strengthen client relationships and let our people’s personalities shine through. Away from the hustle and bustle of the office, K2 team members, clients and their colleagues can enjoy networking and interacting in a relaxed social setting.”
Guests were welcomed by K2’s Executive Business Director, Richard Rutledge, and Chief Commercial Officer, Rob McFarland, who then handed over to Khushi, a behavioural psychologist and Research Associate from the University of Bath, to talk about K2’s partnership with the institution. Through this partnership, work is being undertaken to develop new products, processes and services that will enable K2, it’s partners and clients, to lead from the front in terms of improving sustainability within global mobility.
Khushi, who heads up a partnership project focused on designing behavioural interventions to encourage sustainability, invited those present to take part in a survey to support the research phase of her work. The survey was designed with the aim of finding out how well sustainability is embedded into global mobility policies and processes: it aimed to pinpoint where organisations are at in their sustainability journey, what priority level sustainability is assigned internally, plus any barriers mobility departments face when trying to make sustainable decisions.
On being able to gain insights from the HR and global mobility professionals in the room, Khushi comments:
“ It was fantastic to have the opportunity to engage with K2’s valued clients at the Spring Social and to invite them to participate in our research. It’s clear from the conversations that were had on the night that sustainability remains a high priority in principle, but that it is often the practice that can present problems for GM teams.”
K2’s event organisers are committed to keeping sustainability in mind during the planning and delivery of events. Having moved away from fresh cut flowers, instead opting for greener ways to dress the event space, the centre piece in the Tapestry Room was an artificial blossom tree. The Grande Blossom has been used almost 300 times to date and has a lifetime of use still ahead of it.
After the welcome speeches, entertainment was provided by a six-piece band, offering guests a chance to dance the night away. Guests left with a packet of UK wildflower seeds to plant, to mark the start of spring.
Jo continues: “We would like to thank everyone who attended – it truly was a wonderful evening, and we are already looking forward to next year!”
