Towards the end of last year, all K2 employees were asked to complete a survey compiled by Great Place To Work®, the global authority on workplace culture. The survey results are now in and we are delighted to announce that K2 has received the coveted Great Place To Work® certification!
For the certifying organisation, a great place to work is one where everyone, no matter who they are or what they do, has a consistently positive experience. The company’s leaders are caring and foster an environment in which everyone has a purpose, can contribute new ideas and is able to access the resources that they need to thrive in their role.
2022 was a very successful year for K2, from both a financial and a client satisfaction perspective. It is our culture, one that we believe to be unique and truly special, which made this success possible, and we wanted to find a way to prove and to celebrate this. Enter the Great Place To Work® survey, which was completed by employees across nine countries and twelve cities, and which returned an employee satisfaction rate of an industry-enviable 96%.
When announcing the survey results to the business, CEO Nick Plummer spoke about ‘Q’, which is the essence of K2’s culture. It is a quality that is very difficult to define because it manifests itself differently in each member of the K2 family. It is commitment, passion, fearlessness, kindness, friendship, stoicism, openness, understanding and selflessness, to name just a few. It is something as small as a colleague who makes you a hot chocolate to help you push through a tough afternoon, and something as big as a manager who values your success above their own. Q is what makes K2 different, as Nick explains:
