Our K2 volunteers spent the day exploring Kathmandu, the Gateway to the Himalayas. They visited Boudhanath, which is said to entomb the remains of Kassapa Buddhaone, and which is one of the largest spherical stupas in the world.
And for our trekkers…Take deep breaths and just keep putting one foot in front of the other. Our courageous K2 walkers tackling the trek from the town of Lukla to the village of Tok Tok.
The how, why & where
24 K2 employees from across the globe have flown out to Nepal to take part in an expedition and volunteering programme, our main charitable initiative for 2023. Upon landing in Nepal, the K2 team split into two groups. The first group embarks on the Everest Base Camp Trek, whilst the second group heads into a number of remote villages surrounding Pokhara, a city in central Nepal, to help refurbish local schools.
Support the K2 Foundation
The charitable initiatives that the Foundation funds focus on helping the children within those communities, children whose futures are bleak or uncertain. Often, the support provided takes the form of education, as this gives children the chance to develop skillsets which can increase the number of opportunities available to them as they grow up.
