The online event, which was aimed at businesses, private individuals in Singapore and companies looking to establish a business in the country, opened with an introduction to K2 Corporate Mobility from APAC Managing Director, Paul Barrett, before Immigration Leader for APAC & the Middle East, Jesper Albrekt, took attendees through an informative presentation covering the following areas:

  • What passes are available to foreign nationals in Singapore
  • Impacts and opportunities of the COMPASS Framework and ONE Pass
  • Immigration strategy considerations
  • Permanent residence

Jesper closed the session by providing a summary of everything that had been covered, before offering those present the opportunity to ask any questions.

Jesper comments:

“With a growing talent shortage in key sectors, governments worldwide are rethinking their approach to talent attraction and retention. New immigration policy continues to be introduced to ensure competitiveness, efficiency and transparency, while also ensuring opportunities for the local workforce.”

He continues:

“It’s important for businesses to stay abreast of any policy changes that may have an impact on their operations. This can be difficult when frameworks and policies are constantly evolving, with additional government updates often being given at very short notice.

At K2, we see it as our role to keep our clients, partners, and members of our wider network, informed; identifying any areas where action may be required in order to stay compliant, and highlighting the different pathways available to help organisations achieve their immigration goals.”

Paul answers:

“We know that timely communication is key. Our regional Immigration Leaders keep their fingers on the pulse, working hard to stay ahead of the curve when it comes to any upcoming changes. In addition to organising in-person and online events (such as the recent partnership event with SwedCham) to facilitate in-depth discussions on specific topics when required, they also send out regular updates, providing information about anything that might be relevant to our network. Our clients have reported finding these up-to-the-minute insights incredibly valuable from a planning perspective.”

Paul closes:

“We would like to thank SwedCham for inviting us to present on the Singapore Immigration Framework, and hope those who attended found it useful.”
