Towards the end of last year, our channels were flooded with coverage of our epic Nepal Trip, the aim of which was to raise money for the K2 Foundation.
With the trip now behind us, this month sees us collating and sifting through a veritable mountain of photos, videos and testimonials, from which we will produce a short film about our limit-testing Nepal adventure.
“We headed on a steep ascend and felt the struggle as we all had to keep our minds strong and in the game. We finally reached the top of the ascend and had the most beautiful view of the mountains and prayer flags.”
“The morning was spent with half of the team beginning to paint the dilapidated school building and the other half began digging 2.6 foot trenches ready for the new toilet block. Around 10am the children started to arrive for school. Two children raised the Nepal school flag and all children lined up to sing the Nepal national anthem.”
“Today we started our trek off with extreme cold at -7 degrees, we set off through the mystical forest of Deboche and headed off on a cold and windy trek.”
“After lunch, with the painting of the school complete, a special thank-you ceremony was held in our honour. This saw the team presented with certificates and flower garlands, and a special trophy engraved with ‘a token of love’ given in commemoration of the K2 Foundation.”
Celebrate the K2 Nepal Team’s commitment and achievements by donating to the K2 Foundation.
Established at the beginning of 2023, the K2 Foundation supports the future of children around the world, particularly within the regions that K2 operates. It does this by raising money through a variety of activities/ventures, from charity bake sales to the Nepal expedition and volunteering programme. It then uses the funds raised to make a positive impact on children’s lives through a range of partnerships/projects, which include a partnership with Naomi House & Jacksplace, two hospices supporting life-threatened and life-limited children; a partnership with SOS Africa, which sees us sponsoring the education of five local children; and a project which sees us rebuilding a São Paulo school.
All funds raised in relation to the Nepal Trip will be channelled into the São Paulo school rebuild.
