K2 Singapore was among the first of K2’s international offices. Opened in 2007 to meet the expanding service and global reach requirements of our clients, Singapore has been delivering our excellent standards of service within the APAC region ever since.
As a member of K2’s Operations Team in Singapore for the last six years, we sat down with Jolene Tan to talk through her role at K2, and all things K2 Singapore. During a recent interview we had with Europe Operations Lead Amanda Lillie, Amanda explained the structure of our Operations Team:
“Our flat organisational structure brings to the team the confidence to suggest ideas to either their Operational Leads or to myself, and I am very grateful we have a structure in place that encourages that.”
Talking to Jolene, we wanted to find out how this structure benefits the team in APAC, too:
“We introduced the ‘pod system’ this year – a structure whereby K2’s Relocation Managers are divided into smaller teams, each being led by an Operations Lead. It has been organised in this way to ensure each colleague has sufficient support, and has the space to bring their own ideas, thoughts or concerns to their team lead with no difficulty.”
This flat and flexible structure creates a working environment that ensures the highest standard of excellence for our clients. The streamlined approach of a single point of contact, coupled with the collaboration that comes within the K2 pod system, delivers to clients’ assignees a straight-forward yet extremely rewarding experience. And as the team grows, so too does its experience and differing fields of expertise. Jolene explains the growth of the Singapore Team:
“The multiculturalism of Singapore is reflected in the office. As our office continues to expand, so does the diversity of nationalities among our team. In fact, some of our colleagues are even making the exciting move to our Singapore office themselves (check out Jesper Albrekt’s relocation to Singapore). This firsthand experience allows us to truly understand and empathize with the challenges and experiences that our assignees go through during their own journeys. It is an abundance of knowledge, mixed with high levels of empathy that results in a tailored experience for our clients and assignees.”
