Meet Liv, a Marketing Executive
A creative writing graduate, I have always had a passion for storytelling, and the art of written communication.
With some digital marketing agency experience under my belt, I started my career in recruitment advertising, before spending a number of years in the placemaking sector, managing a wide range of marketing projects and events.
Ready for a change, and captivated by the K2 culture, I joined K2 as a Marketing Executive at the start of 2022.

A more detailed description of my journey
Fresh out of university, my first job of note was as an Account Executive within the Recruitment Advertising industry. The team was small (the owners, their dog and one other colleague) and whilst I had been grateful for my first proper job, I didn’t feel that writing job adverts was really allowing me to flex my creative writing muscles.
After three years or so I decided I needed to spread my wings a bit. I had seen a role advertised within an organisation that was working to improve and promote my hometown, as well as offering support to local businesses. As a proud Guildfordian, and lover of all things local, I thought that this sounded right up my street. I ended up working for the company for almost six years, progressing from a business support role to Project Manager within 18 months, and in this position found myself responsible for co-organising a calendar of town centre events with local partners, alongside managing social media channels and developing brand campaigns. The learnings had been big, but the company, once again, was small, and so I resolved that it was the perfect time to ‘go global’.
When the recruiter told me that K2 had a special culture with a ‘family feel’ the cynic in me couldn’t help but roll my eyes. Wasn’t this the type of thing that every corporate looking to attract new talent professes to help reel candidate in? To my shock, I quickly discovered that everything I had been told about K2 was true. From my first interview to my first day, the recruitment process and onboarding that followed were a positive indication of things to come.
I hadn’t worked in a corporate environment before joining K2 but had heard the horror stories from peers about toxic workplaces and cultures of fear; believe me when I tell you that this couldn’t be further removed from what you find when stepping into any of K2’s global offices. K2 place incredible importance on attracting and retaining the right people, and it shows. I’ve yet to meet a K2 team member who isn’t an all-round-good-egg.
Not only are people genuinely nice, keen to collaborate and willing to help, they’re also extremely good at their jobs. I continue to be impressed by the talents of my global colleagues – from in-depth industry knowledge to language skills and qualifications, their ability to build and maintain client relationships, or passion for environmental issues, every member of the K2 Family has an enviable and unique skillset, alongside the K2 can-do spirit (K2Q).
At K2 you are encouraged to have a voice and raise your hand- whether you’ve got an idea, a concern or are looking for some extra support. I have felt empowered to hone in on areas of interest, such as sustainability and CSR, and be a part of building my own personal development plans.
I am particularly grateful for the support I have received during my return to work after maternity leave, whilst learning to navigate the challenges that come with juggling managing a family and work commitments, and try to achieve a healthy work-life balance, something that K2 takes very seriously.
I was fortunate to join K2 during an exciting period of growth and have seen both the Marketing Team and the company as a whole evolve significantly in the last few years. Following the launch of the Kinetic business plan in Q1 of 2022, Sustainability and People & Culture have become key areas of focus. The development of the People & Culture pillar of the strategy has led to the introduction of a number of very special Reward & Recognition initiatives that help to reinforce the value K2 puts on its people.
Sustainability is also front of mind in all that we do, and one aspect of my role that I particularly enjoy is supporting the Global ESG & Compliance team to communicate updates around K2’s progress in this field, as they work towards leading change within the relocation sector. I take enormous pride in being part of an organisation that really walks the walk when it comes to all things Sustainability.
Marketing a company and talking about its service delivery, people, and culture in a positive way, is much easier to do, when you truly believe that they are ‘best-in-class’ in all that they do, both for their employees and their clients.
